SUNY Canton has a license with Sophos that allows us to provide Sophos Anti-Virus to the campus community. Faculty, staff and currently registered students are eligible to install Sophos on their personal computers. This license is only in effect while you are registered as a student or are currently employed by the campus. Once your affiliation with SUNY Canton ends, you must uninstall this software.

This software is provided with no guarantees; installation and use is at the user's own risk. SUNY Canton cannot be held liable for any computer damage that may occur from the installation and use of this software.

Select the version of Sophos that is appropriate for your operating system:

Microsoft Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista

Note: Sophos reports their software as being compatible with Vista. We have not fully tested this yet.

No Windows 98?: Microsoft's extended support for Windows 98, 98SE and ME ended on July 11, 2006. This means that Microsoft no longer provides security updates for these operating systems. As such we have also ended support for them. Through licensing with Microsoft, Windows XP Professional is available to students for free and to faculty and staff for a small fee. Please refer to Software Available on Campus
