Borrowing & Renewing Materials
SUNY Canton students, faculty, and staff may borrow material using their college I.D. cards. The students of the other three area colleges and other SUNY units, as well as members of the Canton community, may borrow books from Southworth Library after completing a registration form.
Library books, audio recordings and CD-roms are charged out for three weeks. Fines are charged on all overdue material at the rate of 25 cents per day per item to a maximum of $5.00 per item. A replacement price (including processing cost) will be charged to the borrower for material returned in damaged condition or for material not returned. The Library will assess the replacement costs as well as the fines on overdue material. All fines and fees are to be paid at the Student Accounts office.
Reserve item loan periods are set by the instructor. The fine for late return of reserve items is 50 cents per hour, to a maximum of $5.00.
Library laptops are loaned for 4 hours, to SUNY Canton students only, during the hours that the IS helpdesk is not open and must be used in the Library.
Reference books, periodicals and newspapers, microfilm and video recordings must be used in the library building.
Library books, audio recordings and CD-roms may be renewed for another three week loan period by phone or in person if the item is not in demand.
Reserve items may not be renewed.
