From NYS Department of Health:

March 22, 2012

Dear Healthcare Provider:

The purpose of this letter is to alert you of an emerging threat to public health associated with the use of synthetic cannabinoids, which are used often by teens and young adults to mimic the effects of marijuana. Synthetic cannabinoids are marketed as "legal" and consist of plant material coated by chemicals which mimic THC, the active principle of marijuana.

**ATTENTION AGENCIES TRANSPORTING TO CHMC**

Please be advised that until we can widen the ambulance bay,if you come in and there is an ambulance already at the back entrance you can use the side entrance to bring the patient in. The CHMC staff will be made aware of this temporary compromise. Any questions or further concerns can be discussed with myself or Dave Ferris,Senior VP Patient Care Services. If CHMC staff are aware that there are several ambulances enroute then they have been instructed to advise you to use the side entrance if an ambulance is there or will be there when you come in based on your ETA.
