Math Lab Coordinator Linda Crowner’s ability to respond to the evolving needs of students led her to be recognized with the SUNY Canton College Council’s 2007 Excellence in College Service award.

“Linda clearly contributes to the continuing success of the college,” said College Council Chairman Wesley Stitt. “It is with great pleasure that I present her with this award on behalf of the SUNY Canton College Council.”

Crowner tailors her tutoring approach to fit each student’s learning style and again adjusts her teaching tactics for each faculty member at the college. Hundreds of students have personally thanked her for her assistance, some of whom even said they wouldn’t have made it through college without her.

Crowner is highly involved in campus activities including Faculty Assembly, and was a member of the Academic Standards Committee. She has also served as a member of the Learning Resources Group for the Middle States Assessment, received three Who’s Who Among American Teacher’s Awards, through nominations from students, and received a character development award.
