Early Childhood Conference at SUNY Canton, Oct. 13
The SUNY Canton Early Childhood Program will be hosting their annual Early Childhood Conference from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center.
This event is designed for childcare professionals, early childhood educators, parents and students according to Early Childhood Program Director Maureen Maiocco. “Workshops at the conference fulfill mandated professional development requirements through the New York State Office of Children and Family Services,” Maiocco pointed out.
The hands-on interactive workshops include topics on working with children with special needs in the child care setting, literacy through child care programming, and engaging parent to professional collaboration.
The conference is held in collaboration with the St. Lawrence Child Care Council and the Northern New York Early Childhood Direction. The organizations have banded together with the SUNY Canton Early Childhood Program to create “Partners in Early Childhood Educational Services” otherwise known as PIECES.
