The SUNY Canton College Activities Board has sponsored a fireworks display as part of the College’s Fall Festival, Wednesday, Sept. 15.

The first fireworks will launch at 9 p.m. from the field behind SUNY Canton’s Smith Residence Hall.

The Kangaroos men's soccer team will take on the SUNY Potsdam Bears at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The College is holding a "pack the stands" event at the game as part of Fall Fest.

Other events during the student-orchestrated festivities include:

  • A construction celebration of the College’s Grasse River Housing Suites will be held at 3 p.m. across the street from the construction site on Cornell Drive.
  • Students from each residence will be competing in a raft race for their choice of rooms in the new 305-bedroom apartment-style suites and other prizes beginning at 4 p.m. Wednesday on the Grasse River.
  • Plattsburgh-based hypnotist Michael Blaine will be performing at 5 p.m.
  • The Kangaroos men’s soccer team will take on the SUNY Potsdam Bears at 7 p.m. at the turf field. The athletic department is holding a “pack the stands event” with competitions and prizes for students attending the game.
  • The much-acclaimed North Country band Double Axel will be performing classic rock sets at 3:30 and 6 p.m. and a College DJ will be performing at 4:30 and 7 p.m.

All of the above events are free and open to the public, but specifically designed for college students. Events, unless otherwise noted, will be held in the field behind Smith Hall near the volleyball court and adjacent to the Grasse River. The rain location for all events except for the fireworks and soccer match is in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center.
