SUNY Canton Welcomes Back Graduates for Alumni Weekend
Hundreds of SUNY Canton graduates will return to campus July 19 to 21 for the College’s Alumni Weekend.
Registration will begin at 9 a.m. Friday, July 19, in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center. The weekend’s activities will include a half-century luncheon honoring the class of 1963, campus tours and special reunions for Nursing and Automotive Technology graduates. Milestone celebrations will be held for Alpha Chi Omicron sorority’s 90th anniversary and Kappa Xi Omega sorority’s 10th anniversary.
“Alumni Weekend offers a special opportunity for former students to catch up with old friends, hear what’s happening on campus and have a lot of fun,” said Peggy S. Levato, director of alumni affairs.
A Hall of Fame induction ceremony, which will add 25 new members to the Century Club, will take place at 5 p.m. Friday in the Convocation, Athletic and Recreation Center, nicknamed Roos House. Members of the Hall of Fame include alumni, founders, athletes, community members, and retired faculty and staff members.
“The Hall of Fame honors those who have made lasting contributions to SUNY Canton,” Levato said. “We are grateful for the energy the inductees have invested into making the College a better place for our students.”
The weekend will cap off with a barbeque and reception on the Campus plaza Saturday evening.
