Bestselling Author to Speak at CSTEP Symposium at SUNY Canton
Daniel Seddiqui, author of the bestselling book “50 Jobs in 50 States,” will speak to area college students at Northern New York’s annual career symposium for the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) at SUNY Canton Feb. 1.
Seddiqui is widely known as the “world’s most ambitious job seeker,” yet has been named by USA Today as the “most rejected person in the world.” After failing more than 40 consecutive job interviews and sending out thousands of emails seeking a job after college graduation, he set out on a quest of finding and working 50 jobs in 50 states. His book chronicles his journey, and he has appeared on CNN, Fox News, “World News Tonight” and the “Today” show.
More than 80 students from the Associated Colleges are expected to attend the all-day event, where they will have the opportunity to network and hear from local experts in law, health care, science and engineering.
The goal of CSTEP is to increase the number of students from under-represented groups who are pursuing professional licensure and careers in mathematics, science, technology and health-related fields. The program is sponsored by the New York State Education Department’s Bureau of Professional Career Opportunity Programs.
