Women entrepreneurs can make sure their businesses are in good health by participating in a Financial and Legal Check-Up as part of the SUNY Canton Small Business Development Center’s (SBDC) fall Women’s Business Bootcamp Luncheon from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2013 in SUNY Canton’s Richard W. Miller Campus Center.
The semi-annual event will feature Angela Gray, CPA, and Attorney Cathleen O’Horo who will speak to attendees about the common mistakes and pitfalls experienced by many small businesses at various stages of growth. A question and answer period will follow each speaker.
The day will feature the popular “Mini Marketplace,” a display area for attendees to sell their products or educate participants about their business. Those participating in the “Mini Marketplace” will be able to utilize a small trade show table for product displays and materials.
“This is a great chance for women entrepreneurs to learn about potential legal and financial problems and how to avoid them,” said SBDC Director Dale Rice. “For the nominal registration fee, participants will be getting some great advice and insight from an accountant and an attorney.”
Registration is $30 per person, which includes the luncheon, access to presentations, a small table for the “Mini Marketplace” and plenty of networking opportunities. The Women’s Business Bootcamp is open to new, existing and aspiring women entrepreneurs. To register, contact the SUNY Canton SBDC at (315) 386-7312 or email@example.com.
