SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam will co-host the event as part of SUNY’s Statewide Student Financial Aid Day on Saturday, Feb. 12. The session is open to students applying to both public and private institutions and will begin at 9 a.m. on SUNY Canton’s campus in the Faculty Office Building lobby. The event will include a general information session as well as workshops.

The program is being offered to answer questions about financial aid and provide assistance with the financial aid application (FAFSA) process. Prospective or current students and their families will have the chance to ask questions of SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam admissions and financial aid representatives. Those who attend can also receive hands-on assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).

SUNY Canton and SUNY Potsdam will be participating in the SUNY Statewide Financial Aid Day from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Feb 21, in the Halford Lobby on the ground floor of SUNY Canton’s Faculty Office Building.

The Student State-wide Financial Aid Days are offered so students and parents can receive assistance with the financial aid application process. Financial Aid professionals from both colleges will be helping students complete their Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA forms. Future, prospective, current students, and family members are invited to participate in the hands-on training session. Admissions Counselors from both colleges will also be on hand.

“We realize that given the economy, financial aid is more important than ever,” said Kerrie Cooper, SUNY Canton Director of Financial Aid. “It is often the determining factor in whether a student attends college. We can help students make sure that they get all of the aid that they are eligible for.”

SUNY Canton offers a wide variety of career-driven bachelor’s, associate, and certificate programs, as well as three master’s degrees in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica.
