The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) will host the Women’s Business Boot Camp from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 19, at SUNY Canton.
“This is the third year that we’ve held a business conference specifically for women business owners and entrepreneurs,” said SBDC Director Dale Rice. “This year we have given the event a new name that reflects all of the hard work and dedication of women business owners.”
The SBDC teamed up with Key Bank to bring the Women’s Business Boot Camp to the area this year. The St. Lawrence County Industrial Development Agency and the Women’s Business Entrepreneurial Center at ComLinks are cosponsoring the event. “We are pleased that Key Bank and the Key for Women program are helping us bring this valuable training to our local entrepreneurs,” Rice said.
Boot Camp Attendees will attend mini training sessions on business topics including bookkeeping, going green, and protecting digital information. Key Bank staff will be on hand to discuss credit and banking issues. Motivational Speaker Barbara Walker of Cope Consulting Services will be presenting an inspirational keynote address.
The conference will also feature a Resource Expo where area businesses and organizations can showcase their products and services. The Resource Expo will be open from noon to 4 p.m. with special networking sessions scheduled so conference participants can spend exclusive time with Expo vendors.
Cost to attend the Women’s Business Boot Camp is $45 per person. Registration as a Resource Expo exhibitor is $35, which includes lunch and access to the keynote address. Registration for both the Bootcamp and exhibit in the Expo is $70.
For further information, or to register as an exhibitor, please call the SBDC at (315) 764-0683, or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
