				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>CANTON &#8211; A memorial ceremony in honor of the victims and heroes of Sept. 11, 2001, will be held at 8:45 a.m. Thursday in front of the Richard W. Miller Campus Center.</p>
<p>“We hold our 9/11 ceremony to help our campus and the North Country community remember the tragic events and ensuing heroism that the nation witnessed seven years ago,” said William J. Fassinger, Associate Professor of Criminal Investigations. “Our area firefighters, police officers, emergency medical personnel, soldiers and veterans stand with us in honor of everyone who lost their lives that tragic day.”</p>

<p>The ceremony is free and open to the public. Firefighters and emergency personnel are asked to wear their Class A uniforms.</p>
<p>SUNY Canton offers a wide variety of career-driven bachelor&#8217;s, associate, and certificate programs, as well as three master&#8217;s degrees in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica. Most of SUNY Canton&#8217;s new four-year programs are designed so students can take them on-campus, online, or both. SUNY Canton OnLine features more than 85 courses online each semester. The college&#8217;s athletic teams have joined the NAIA&#8217;s Sunrise Conference, enabling students to compete in their respective sports for four years.</p>
