In addition to the information provided above, employees are put on written notice that their own personal automobile liability insurance may provide the first layer of insurance coverage in an accident. Employees should be advised to confirm with their insurance carrier whether business uses of their personal vehicles are excluded from coverage. In the event of an express exclusion, the State's self-insurance will provide the primary coverage.
Additionally, all accidents should be reported to the appropriate campus office and campus counsel consulted for possible referral to the Attorney General. Drivers must be advised to immediately notify their insurance carrier of any accident.
