SUNY Canton Seeks Distinguished Citizen
Nominations
SUNY Canton is seeking nominations for its annual College Council Distinguished Citizen Award, to be presented at its Commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 19, 2007.
Since 1976, the College has given this prestigious award in recognition of exceptional, unusual, and distinguished service to the College, to the community, to the State, or to the nation.
Members of the community are invited to submit written nominations for the award. Minimally, the nominations should include the name, position or title, a description, and a brief biography of the nominee. At least three letters of support from non-family members should accompany the nomination. All nominations should be submitted to Mr. Wesley L. Stitt, College Council Chairman, SUNY Canton, 34 Cornell Drive, Canton, NY 13617, by February 1, 2007.
The SUNY Canton College Council will select the recipient at its March 2007 meeting. The recipient’s name will be displayed on plaque in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center.

SUNY Canton is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year and is in the midst of its highly successful SUNY Canton Centennial Campaign: Cultivating the Minds of Tomorrow. In addition to 22 associate degree programs, SUNY Canton currently offers 12 four-year degrees with plans to announce several other new programs during the next academic year. SUNY Canton also offers three unique master's degrees in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica.
