Extra Large SUNY Canton Job Fair Oct, 23
More than 50 employers are expected to recruit at the SUNY Canton Job Fair.
The Sixth Annual SUNY Canton Job Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday Oct. 23 in Alumni Auditorium in Dana Athletic Center. The Job Fair is free and open to the public.
"The Job Fair offers valuable opportunities for businesses to find qualified employees with specific skills and educational backgrounds," said SUNY Canton Director of Career Services David F. Norenberg. "There are a number of businesses who come to recruit SUNY Canton students for the skills and knowledge acquired during their college studies. It is also an excellent resource for community job seekers who want to find out about what employment opportunities are available in the region and beyond."
The Job Fair is coordinated by the Office of Career Services and co-sponsored by the College Foundation and New York State Department of Labor.
"A number of businesses target particular programs to recruit employees with specific skills," Norenberg said. "They join companies that have been pleased with the well-rounded nature of our graduates and their ability to succeed. We've particularly seen a tremendous increase in businesses interested in our four-year degree graduates."
Members of SUNY Canton's Faculty and Staff also routinely attend the Job Fair to discuss current practices and techniques so that the college's educational programs remain in-line with tomorrow's high-growth and high-demand workplaces.
Students looking for internships as part of their curriculums are also encouraged to interact with the employers to discuss opportunities for on-the-job education.
