SUNY Canton Gospel Choir
Katrina Benefit Concert, Nov. 18
The SUNY Canton "Anointed Voices" Gospel Choir will hold a Hurricane Katrina relief benefit concert at 7 p.m. Friday Nov. 18, in the Kingston Theater, located in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center.
This wonderful evening of music is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted to benefit the BET S.O.S Relief fund for victims of Katrina.
The SUNY Canton Gospel Choir has been active for more than 10 years, according to Anointed Voices President Niomi Bailey. "We perform gospel music with roots dating back to the days of slavery," said Bailey. "Gospel music carries messages of spirituality, harmony, and freedom that resonate throughout the world."
For more information on the Anointed Voices contact Seth Thompson, SUNY Canton Director of Diversity Affairs at 315-386-7128, or thompsons@canton.edu.
SUNY Canton will be marking its 100-year anniversary next year and has already begun celebrating with its highly successful SUNY Canton Centennial Campaign: Cultivating the Minds of Tomorrow. The College is transitioning from a two-year institution to a four-year College. In addition to 25 associate degree programs, SUNY Canton currently offers eight four-year degrees with plans to double that number during the next academic year. SUNY Canton also offers a Masters of Business Administration in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica.
