Information Night at SUNY Canton Education Center,

Massena, Dec. 7

Small logo A special session that allows applicants to process their SUNY Canton application within minutes will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the SUNY Canton Education Center in Massena's St. Lawrence Centre Mall.

"We offer admissions at the SUNY Canton Education Center in Massena to make it easier for people who work in Massena to register for full or part-time classes," said Betsy Libby, SUNY Canton Assistant Director of Admissions. "We will also provide pre-admission information and curriculum options for the 50 degree programs offered at SUNY Canton and the classes offered at the Massena Education Center."

College representatives will give presentations on academic programs, admissions procedures, support services for students, and part-time enrollment opportunities, according to Pamela M. Levendusky, Massena Education Center Coordinator. Information will be available about the SUNY Canton Campus, the SUNY Canton Education Center in Massena and online course offerings.

"Advisors will be available to help simplify the application procedure for new students," said Levendusky. "Potential students can also learn how online courses work and how to be successful in an online class environment."

Potential students can apply for baccalaureate, associate, and certificate programs, as well as the locally-offered Master of Business Administration Degree with SUNYIT, Utica.

Those interested are asked to provide a final official copy of their high school and college transcripts, or a GED score, a completed application, and a $40 application fee. Students filing for financial aid will need to bring their 2004 income tax statements for the financial aid advisor to complete the required forms.

Those who have just begun to consider attending SUNY Canton are also encouraged to stop by. For more information, please contact the SUNY Canton Office of Admissions at 800-388-7123 or the SUNY Canton Education Center at 764-5321.

SUNY Canton will be marking its 100-year anniversary next year and has already begun celebrating with its highly successful SUNY Canton Centennial Campaign: Cultivating the Minds of Tomorrow. The College is transitioning from a two-year institution to a four-year college. In addition to 25 associate degree programs, SUNY Canton currently offers eight four-year degrees with plans to double that number during the next academic year. SUNY Canton also offers a Masters of Business Administration in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica.
