SUNY Canton Instant Admit Allows
Students to Start On Time
It's not too late. SUNY Canton's admissions counselors will be holding instant admissions for prospective students throughout this week in order to potentially allow those students to start classes on time this fall.
"Although some programs are already full, there are some that have a limited number of openings," said Director of Admissions Jodi L. Revill. "Instant admission allows students to avoid the mailing and processing time it can take to receive a decision on their college application. By using this method, we can expedite the process and make it possible for students coming in this week to be in the classroom next week."
For prospective students to fully complete the admission process, they should bring an official high school transcript or official GED test scores, a check or money order for their $40 application fee, and a completed application. If students have previously attended another college, they should also bring official college transcripts.
SUNY Canton financial aid counselors will also be on hand to assist potential students and their parents in applying for financial aid or explaining deferred tuition payment options. Potential students applying for financial aid should bring with them a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form, which can be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov.
Appointments are not necessary, but strongly recommended to avoid wait time. Call 315-386-7123/ 800-388-7123 to schedule an appointment. The Office of Admissions is located in French Hall and is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
SUNY Canton is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year and is in the midst of its highly successful SUNY Canton Centennial Campaign: Cultivating the Minds of Tomorrow. In addition to 23 associate degree programs, SUNY Canton currently offers 12 four-year degrees with plans to announce several other new programs during the upcoming academic year. SUNY Canton also offers three unique master's degrees in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica.
