Employers Invited to Recruit at SUNY Canton Job Fair

Job Fair 2005 Information

  Employers are invited to attend the SUNY Canton Job Fair on Monday, October 17.

Last year, more than 40 employers set up displays, and more than 600 potential employees attended the job fair, which was cosponsored by the New York State Department of Labor and the Canton College Foundation. Students involved in campus clubs and organizations will be on-hand to assist prospective job seekers and employers prepare for the event.

"The SUNY Canton Job Fair has been very successful ever since we began holding it in 2001," said Teresa L. Clemmo, of the SUNY Canton Office of Career Services. "We hope to make this one bigger and better than ever."

Prospective employers also have the chance to talk to SUNY Canton's faculty and staff. This dialogue further helps educators ensure that each student's education is in-line with the demands of high-growth and high-demand careers.

The New York State Department of Labor sends delegates to help prospective employees and offers services to the businesses. "Each year at the Job Fair, applicants have a broad range of different job prospects and employers to talk with; from high tech to basic labor," said New York State Department of Labor Representative Tony Zappia. "You don't find this at ordinary job fairs."

Additionally, the Job Fair presents a time for employers to recruit interns from select SUNY Canton curriculums.

Tables for the Job Fair are $100 for businesses and $40 for not-for-profit organizations. Deadline for employer registration is September 16. To register or for more information, contact Teresa L.
