Evocative Photo Exhibition at
SUNY Canton’s Southworth Library

SUNY Canton Assistant Librarian Doug Welch is helping the college remember a simpler time through a collection of black-and-white photos on loan from the St. Lawrence County Historical Society.
"The photos in this exhibition are really quite evocative," noted Welch. "Through such historic photos we can compare and contrast the lifestyles lived in days past with those of today."
The exhibit is comprised of historic photos documenting "Changing Works" collected by Author Doug Harper for his book by the same title. Harper studied the changing world of farming in Upstate New York through photos from Standard Oil of New Jersey's Photo Project.
The display is located on the second floor of the Southworth library and is free and open to the public.
SUNY Canton is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year and is in the midst of its highly successful SUNY Canton Centennial Campaign: Cultivating the Minds of Tomorrow. In addition to 22 associate degree programs, SUNY Canton currently offers 12 four-year degrees with plans to announce several other new programs during the next academic year. SUNY Canton also offers three unique master's degrees in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica.
