SUNY Canton Honors Recently Promoted Faculty and Staff
The
SUNY Canton Human Resources (HR) professionals have been hard at work announcing
the recent promotions of 13 SUNY Canton Faculty and Staff members. Promotions
at SUNY Canton include surprise balloons delivered by HR staff members. We
are thrilled that our staff have been recognized for their hard work and dedication
to SUNY Canton. This work has really helped transition SUNY Canton to the next
level and provides us with great momentum to keep us moving forward to meet
the challenges of our new role as a college offering one, two and four year
programs.
Among those recently acknowledged:

Following review by his peers and the administration, Joseph Reilly was promoted to Assistant Professor of Construction in the SUNY Canton Canino School of Engineering Technology . Also reviewed this past year was Dr. Anthony Beane. As a result, Dr. Beane was promoted to SUNY Canton Professor of Veterinary Technology in the SUNY Canton School of School of Health, Science, and Professional Studies. Marty Clark-Stone was recently promoted to Associate Professor of Heating and Plumbing in the SUNY Canton Canino School of Engineering Technology. A few days prior to the surprise balloon presentation, Clark-Stone was recognized by SUNY Canton President Joseph L. Kennedy for taking the time to operate the 'Ropes Course' on the Campus. Hundreds of people have completed this course, which includes gliding across a branch of the Grasse River with assistance from Clark-Stone. Will Fassinger was also surprised recently by the balloons which marked his promotion to Assistant Professor of Criminal Justice and Criminal Investigation in the School of Business and Public Service. Other promotions in the School of Business and Public Service include Judith Porter and Lisa Colbert. Judith was recently promoted to Assistant Professor of Office Technology in the SUNY Canton School of Business and Public Service, whilst Lisa Colbert was recently promoted to Instructor of Criminal Justice. In this surprise group promotion get-together, Betty Connolly, Director of Human Resources surprised five individuals with balloons honoring their promotions. Brown, Molly Mott who was promoted to Senior Staff Associate in the School of Liberal Arts and Support Services, Veigh Mehan-Lee who was promoted to Instructional Support Technician in Accommodative Services, Christopher Nouryeh who was promoted to Professor in the Humanities Department, Tamra Woodrow who was promoted to Instructional Support Associate in the Science Tutoring and Learning Center, and Laura Richards who was promoted to Secretary 1 in SUNY Canton’s Educational Opportunity Program.

SUNY Canton will be marking its 100-year anniversary next year and has already begun celebrating with its highly successful SUNY Canton Centennial Campaign: Cultivating the Minds of Tomorrow. The College is transitioning from a two-year institution to a four-year college. In addition to 25 associate degree programs, SUNY Canton currently offers eight four-year degrees with plans to double that number during the next academic year. SUNY Canton also offers a Masters of Business Administration in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica.
