SUNY Canton Celebrates PT Month with Poker Walk, Oct. 25
The SUNY Canton Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program will be holding a Poker Walk in celebration of National Physical Therapy Month, from 12 to 2 p.m. Tuesday Oct. 25 beginning in the Faculty Office Building Lobby.
Students, faculty, staff and members of the community are invited to walk the circumference of the SUNY Canton campus and assemble a poker hand from various dealers along the route. The walkers with the first, second, and third best hands at the end of the walk will win a prize. Members of the PTA program will be collecting donations to benefit the Hurricane Katrina and Rita Relief fund. The American Physical Therapy Association will be matching every $1 raised at the poker walk, with a $2 donation.
There is an alternate indoor poor weather route planned and refreshments will be provided at the end of the event. For more information, stop by the PTA classrooms in SUNY Canton's Wicks Hall room 116 or by calling 315-386-7394.
SUNY Canton will be marking its 100-year anniversary next year and has already begun celebrating with its highly successful SUNY Canton Centennial Campaign: Cultivating the Minds of Tomorrow. The college is transitioning from a two-year institution to a four-year college. In addition to 25 associate degree programs, SUNY Canton currently offers eight four-year degrees with plans to double that number during the next academic year. SUNY Canton also offers a Masters of Business Administration in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica.
