Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Induction,
Thursday at SUNY Canton
The Fall 2006 Induction Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society Induction Ceremony will be held Thursday, December 7, at 7:00 pm, in SUNY Canton's Kingston Theater in the Richard W. Miller Campus Center. This event is free and open to the public, and is held especially for student inductees and their families.
Phi Theta Kappa is the largest honor society in American higher education with more than two million members. SUNY Canton's Lambda Eta Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa will be welcoming 40 new members to the esteemed ranks of academic and civic success.
To be eligible for membership a student must complete a minimum of twelve hours of associate degree course work and generally earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
SUNY Canton is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year and is in the midst of its highly successful SUNY Canton Centennial Campaign: Cultivating the Minds of Tomorrow. In addition to 22 associate degree programs, SUNY Canton currently offers 12 four-year degrees with plans to announce several other new programs during the next academic year. SUNY Canton also offers three unique master's degrees in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica.
