SUNY Canton Unveils SUNY Canton Online

Small logo In response to its current online success and continuing online growth, SUNY Canton has created SUNY Canton OnLine, also known as SUNY Canton OL.

SUNY Canton OL will be used when referring to SUNY Canton's vast number of online courses and majors, including its upcoming Winterterm semester beginning December 26 that features 30 online courses. SUNY Canton OL also has more than 70 online classes being offered this spring, which is the highest number of online classes ever offered by the college in one semester.

"SUNY Canton OL will help us to better market our online courses and majors, particularly to prospective students outside of our immediate area." said President Joseph L. Kennedy. "Our online course offerings will now be easier to find through our web site. Just go to our home page and click on the new SUNY Canton Online logo."

SUNY Canton OL allows students to earn a quality SUNY Canton education without leaving home. It offers convenience and flexibility, and students can learn from almost anywhere in the world. SUNY Canton has previously had online students from numerous states and countries, including US soldiers from the Middle East. Additionally, 12 students from Moscow, Russia, are enrolled in a dual degree program and are currently taking online classes in the financial services bachelor's degree program.

"Many potential students need to have a flexible schedule," said Provost Jeremy Brown. "Therefore, the only option to further their education is online. The same holds for students who are not able to travel to Canton for classes. We're pleased to offer online options that mirror the quality of our face-to-face courses as well as providing our exemplary support services. Most of SUNY Canton's new four-year degrees are being designed so students can take courses either on campus, online, or both."

For course listings or to register for SUNY Canton OL courses, go to www.canton.edu and click on the SUNY Canton OnLine logo. Sign ups for Winterterm and Springterm online classes are already underway.

SUNY Canton is celebrating its 100-year anniversary this year and is in the midst of its highly successful SUNY Canton Centennial Campaign: Cultivating the Minds of Tomorrow. In addition to 22 associate degree programs, SUNY Canton currently offers 12 four-year degrees with plans to announce several other new programs during the next academic year. SUNY Canton also offers three unique master's degrees in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica.
