Smiling in Line - Rachel Jeffers, a Veterinary Science Technology graduate from Lowville, flashes a quick grin while waiting in line for her degree.
Nearly
650 graduates participated in SUNY Canton's 98th Commencement
Ceremonies recently in Dana Athletic Center. Criminal Justice was the
most popular major among graduates with 81 students receiving their associate
degree in that field. Fifty two graduates received associate degrees in
Liberal Arts and Sciences: General Studies, making it the second most
popular major. The most bachelor's degrees were awarded in Criminal
Investigation. It was the third most popular major overall with 47 graduates.
The two-year Nursing program had 37 graduates, followed by 35 who received
associate degrees in Veterinary Science Technology.
Students and their families gathered with faculty, staff and friends in the Miller Campus Center for a post-graduation reception following the formal ceremonies. The weekend also featured 23 students graduating from the St. Lawrence David Sullivan Law Enforcement Academy and a special Pinning Ceremony honoring the 2006 Nursing graduates.
