Dual Focus Approach
Law Enforcement Leadership is a custom blend of public service courses and business courses. It provides all of the elements for graduates to seek supervisory positions in law enforcement agencies.

A Strong Background
The bachelor of technology degree in Law Enforcement Leadership provides graduates with the knowledge, skills, and abilities that will enhance their opportunities to gain professional employment in a variety of criminal justice fields. The degree is also designed to allow graduates to continue their education at the graduate level.

Competitive Careers
Criminal Justice positions are rewarding, challenging, and exciting. Law enforcement and corrections agencies are the largest employers in the public sector with more than 840,000 positions nationally. Jobs for graduates in law enforcement are projected to increase by 24.7 percent through 2012, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Graduates of the Law Enforcement Leadership program are competitively eligible for positions at the local, county, state, and federal levels.
Assistant Professor, Curriculum Coordinator Susan Buckley
Susan Buckley was the first female senior investigator for the New York State Police to supervise a unit in the field. She has also taught at the State Police Academy. Professor Buckley earned a Master’s Degree in Education.

- The National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives
- The International Association of Chiefs of Police
- The Criminal Justice Educators of New York State
Assistant Professor Tom Dempsey
Prior to joining the faculty Mr. Dempsey was the Director of the Police Training Institute (PTI) at the University of Illinois. PTI is one of the largest police academies in the United States.
Mr. Dempsey was also a faculty member and program director at Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia, and has published several books and scholarly articles. He has worked in Afghanistan, Ukraine, Russia, India and Israel.
