Text Box: Upward Bound Moves to SUNY Canton Campus It finally happened. After weeks of packing and living with cardboard boxes piled to the ceiling of Hepburn Hall, the St. Lawrence University gentlemen from the physical plant facility showed up to move our office to the SUNY Canton campus the morning of Tuesday, January 4th. They arrived in the basement of Hepburn at approximately 8:00 a.m., worked diligently for 3 ˝ hours, and completed the task in plenty of time for a noon lunch. A special thanks for a spectacular job done! Since that day, our staff has re-established the headquarters and we’re ready to roll. As a brief description of our new digs, each Upward Bound Counselor will now have the space required to offer confidentiality among students, organize, and creatively implement Upward Bound services. Michele and I are also enjoying our new space with a door connecting our offices to facilitate ever-so-important communication for effective programming. In addition, we can’t wait to share our new resource facility including material for college search, career exploration, and other interesting reading material. Our resource center also doubles as a conference room where many ideas are shared among our staff. Can’t wait for you to visit us! Search Committee Begins Selection Process As promised, one of our first priorities upon our arrival at SUNY Canton has been to hire two new Upward Bound full-time counselors. The ad has been placed and we’ve received a number of applications which are in process. We hope to have new staff on board by the beginning of March. Keep your fingers crossed!
