Text Box: Dear Parent or Guardian, As is often the case with this season, spring has brought a number of changes within our office. Our Assistant Director, Andrea Martin, has started her maternity leave and we have hired Cindy Lauzon, to take her place. Cindy is a local graduate and has an Education background so she was well-suited to step into this role until Andrea returns in the middle of August. In March, we held our second academic year Parent Workshop. This time, we kept the students with us and generated a good deal of discussion around the topic of “communication”. About 30 parents and students joined us and shared their ideas and feelings. After lunch, we played a UB version of the Newlywed Game in which students and parents teamed up against their UB peers to see which families knew each other best. In a close contest, Brittany and Debbie Rixon came out the winners. Everyone seemed to have a good time and parents rated the event at better than a 4.8 on a scale of 1-5. (Special thanks go to Andrea who generated most of the ideas for this event prior to her leave). Our final three events for the spring will include the Senior Dinner, the Incentive Trip, and the Regents Review.
