Victoria Engle

Six-year all-star competitive cheerleader Victoria Engle of Westchester County is proud part of the Kangaroos cheer team.

“Cheerleading has been a big part of my life,” Victoria said. “When I came to Canton, I decided to try out for the team. I loved making new friends while supporting our basketball teams.”

She is pursuing a career in law enforcement. During the summer, she was a park ranger for her county police agency. “This allowed me to work closely with the public and build relationships within the community,” she said.

Victoria enjoys learning from all the faculty and staff members in the Criminal Justice program. She particularly appreciated Lecturer Alan Mulkin’s Law Enforcement Communications course and Senior Lecturer Patrick McManus’ Alcohol, Drugs, and Society course.

“I found out about SUNY Canton by researching schools in New York that had my major at the time,” said Victoria. “I instantly fell in love with this school. I loved the school's features, such as the footbridges and the village of Canton. Since I was a kid, I've always loved upstate New York. Being able to live up here as well as attend school was the perfect vision for me.”

She plans to become a police officer when she graduates in May 2028.
