Taylor French
Taylor French from Massena has always aspired to work in the medical field and decided to turn that goal into reality while balancing life as a mother of five. She is currently a senior in the Nursing program.
Her favorite parts of the program are the hands-on relationships and experiences she has gained through labs and clinicals.
“This is where we get to be out in the real environment,” she said. “I have seen at least five different surgeries.”
Taylor chose SUNY Canton because she had family attend the college previously combined with its strong reputation in the Nursing community. “I didn’t even look elsewhere for acceptance because SUNY Canton felt like the place to go,” she said. “It’s not a far drive, and it’s very welcoming.”
When asked about her favorite professor, Taylor said she has loved them all. “Each one has taught differently, but effectively, and it's been amazing to learn from all of them.”
After graduating in May 2026, she plans to work at a local hospital on their medical-surgical unit to gain experience with a wide range of medical conditions.
