Mark Rennie

Mark Rennie

Mark Rennie of Brockport chose SUNY Canton for the extensive hands-on learning opportunities offered within the Criminal and Forensic Investigation program.

“I have always looked up to and admired my uncle, and he was the chief of police in New Paltz,” he said. “I would be proud to turn out like him.”

Mark said a unique SUNY Canton experience was being able to process a full crime scene from start to finish. His favorite class is Crime Scene Investigation, and his favorite faculty member is Lecturer Andrew Wood.

Mark was recently elected the Student Government Association (SGA) president. He plans to encourage a community environment and support his peers through his new position. “I want students to know that they have a say on campus and to know someone is rooting for their success,” he said.

After graduation in May 2027, he plans on getting a job as a crime scene technician or working as a detective.
