Thinking about Course Load

In your courses, you may be required to do assignments, quizzes, discussions, and more. Check out our Time vs. Money Video to learn about how much time you should be spending working on your courses. If you are taking a full course load (12 credits or more), the amount of work should be equivalent to holding a full-time job. How will you keep track of the things you need to get done?

Planning out your week will help keep you on track and in control of your time. In our Planning your Time video you can learn about scheduling and other tools that can help you manage your time effectively. You can also view My 3-Tier Planning System for Getting Stuff Done by College Info Geek for more inspiration with planning.

Although it may seem like you’re using your time wisely, taking a step back and evaluating can show you that you have more time than you think. Did you learn that you are wasting a lot of time on unimportant activities that could have been used to move forward on a project, do homework, or some other activity you need to accomplish? Procrastination can be a problem for many students and can eat up time that could be used doing other tasks. In our Procrastination video, you can learn about how procrastination can stand in the way of your success! All in all, if you have a project or assignment you need to get done, don’t wait until last minute. You can use this handy Assignment Calculator to plan how and when you are going to complete your schoolwork.

Use the information you have learned in the previous videos and exercises to begin planning out your coming weeks.
