SUNY Canton Contests Yield Creative and Original Student Work
Several SUNY Canton students picked up awards during recent campus photo and song contests.
Among the winners of the recent Roo Song Contest sponsored by the Student Affairs department were Okyere Twumasi’s rap “That’s My SUNY Canton” and a swinging country melody “A UCan Roo” by Nursing student Glenn Federman.
Approximately 20 students entered the Paysonian yearbook photography contest this year. Among those who submitted winning photos were:
Priceless Moment - Homero Flores, a Mechanical Engineering Technology major from Mexico
Landscape - Stephen Fortune, a Telecommunications Technology major from Ogdensburg
Landscape - Shamira Perez, a Veterinary Science Technology major from Syracuse
Student Life - Gerardo Jurardo, an alternative and Renewable Energy Systems major from Chateaugay
Landscape - Alissa Jatsenti, a Business Administration major from Estonia
SUNY Canton offers a wide variety of career-driven bachelor’s, associate, and certificate programs, as well as three master’s degrees in conjunction with SUNYIT, Utica. Most of SUNY Canton’s new four-year programs are designed so students can take them on-campus, online, or both. SUNY Canton OnLine features more than 100 courses online each semester. The college’s athletic teams belong to the NAIA’s Sunrise Conference, enabling students to compete in their respective sports for four years.
