Availability of Services
Health services are available during the academic year to all currently registered students who pay the student health fee. Clinic services are not available during winter, spring and summer breaks.
Emergencies
The Davis Student Health Center is an ambulatory, primary care clinic and has limited emergency services.
If you are in need of emergency medical care for anyone on campus--faculty, staff, student or visitor, at any time day or night, please call University Police at (315) 386- 7777 (7777 from any campus phone). All 911 made from campus phones go to University Police.
University Police is fully trained in CPR and first aid and will respond to the emergency. They will make a determination as to the next step (i.e. call the rescue squad or transport to the Health Center etc.). Click here for more information for more information on emergency care.
There are automated external defibrillators (AED) in over 30 locations across campus for emergency use by trained individuals - AED locations.
Confidentiality
All information in the student's medical record is confidential and access to these records is restricted to Health Center personnel only. Medical information is released only upon a student's written request or upon court-ordered subpoena.
Health Fee and Expenses
The majority of services available at the Davis Student Health Center are covered by the health fee included in the college bill.
There are additional charges, such as for Pap smears, contraceptive supplies and Hepatitis B vaccine.
Students are responsible for payment for services at emergency rooms, laboratory tests done off campus, and services of a specialist if referred by the Health Center.

The Student Health Center holds national accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care Inc., the nation's leading accreditation organization of ambulatory health facilities.
This accreditation recognizes The Davis Student Health Center at SUNY Canton as a facility providing quality ambulatory health care in a safe, respectful environment.

Medical Excuse Policy
