About SUNY Canton EMS

Started in 2016, SUNY Canton EMS provides quality non-transporting, pre-hospital emergency medical services to the students, staff, faculty, and visitors to the SUNY Canton campus and assists with calls in St. Lawrence County, if requested.

SUNY Canton EMS responds to all medical emergencies on the SUNY Canton campus 24 hours a day, 7 days a week throughout the academic year. We also provide event standby services, fundraising opportunities, and disaster relief/recovery.

Our members strive to provide quality professional emergency care with compassion and understanding, while cultivating an environment where leadership development, applied learning, and community service are a core value.

Many of our members are New York State Department of Health Emergency Medical Technicians. Members that choose to obtain their EMT certification undergo rigorous classroom and practical training, as well as any further certifications they may pursue. Once certified as EMT's, members are required to attend training sessions on campus that focus on many of the challenges and skills of the pre-hospital environment.
