Preceptorships
As part of the Veterinary Science Technology curriculum, each student is required to perform an 120-hour preceptorship between the fall and spring semesters of the senior year. The preceptorship is conducted at a site of the student's choosing under the direct supervision of a licensed veterinarian or a licensed veterinary technician. Examples of suitable locations would include:
- Veterinary hospitals
- Animal shelters
- Animal research facilities
- Zoos
It is strongly recommended that students complete the pre-exposure Rabies inoculation series prior to participating in their preceptorships.
