The 2015 Student Opinion Survey (SOS) ranked the SUNY Canton Tutoring Center 1st among the 27 SUNY colleges.

The Southworth Library Learning Commons Tutoring Center offers free academic tutoring in a variety of subjects. Located in the lower level of the Southworth Library Learning Commons, the Tutoring Center offers a range of assistance to all students.

Tutoring Center Services include the following:

  • Professional and Peer Tutoring
  • ESL Assistance
  • Academic resources and reserves for completing homework, labs, and projects
  • Textbook Loans
  • Online Tutoring

Other Tutoring Assistance

Students who are affiliated with specific programs on campus may be eligible for 1:1 tutoring.  The programs below sponsor tutoring for eligible students who are in their program. Click on the links below to learn more about these programs and who is eligible for their services.

Need to brush up on study skills? Tutors in the Learning Labs are always happy to discuss time management and study skills, but students are also encouraged to check out the Smart Steps program offered by the Office of Advising and First Year Programs. Each semester, they offer Smart Steps Study Skills workshops designed to help students learn better and more efficiently.
