The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act

As a College, we understand that parents, families, and guardians have a vested interest in their child's well-being at the institution, regardless of their child's age. Unfortunately, federal law prohibits the College from sharing information regarding a student to parents, family members, guardians, etc., without written permission from the student.

The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) affords students certain rights with respect to their education records, which also include any records that the student may have with the Counseling Office.
