Description of Duties
Under the supervision of the Campus Store Director, the Clerk/Cashier runs register as scheduled, maintains store stock, inventories, merchandise and performs all housekeeping. The Clerk/Cashier will order merchandise as directed and is expected to assist in other areas as assigned.
Principal Duties
- Runs cash register.
- Merchandise stock.
- Marking merchandise.
- Orders items when needed.
- Checks in all grocery items.
- Keeps shelves and racks full and neat.
- Customer service.
- Sorts and distributes mail.
Lesser Duties
- Assists in Mailroom.
- Assists with physical inventories.
- Assists with office cleaning and stocking shelves.
- Maintains on-line store by updating pictures and merchandise as needed.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items that weigh more than 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Travel
No travel is expected for this position.
Required Education
- High school diploma.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree.
- One to three years retail experience.
