Alumni Affairs
Alumni Affairs is a part of the Development Office and the Canton College Foundation. Alumni Affairs is charged with fostering a continuing relationship between the College and its alumni. As a result of this relationship, it is anticipated that alumni will remain engaged and provide volunteer and financial support.
Alumni Affairs maintains a database on all alumni. It collects and records changes such as marriages, births, deaths, employment, and other similar information. Alumni Affairs is the focal point for requests and information related to alumni.
Alumni Affairs publishes the alumni magazine After Canton once per year and produces other print and digital communications designed to inform alumni about SUNY Canton, its priorities, and alumni achievements and activities. Social media accounts are also managed by Alumni Affairs with the same communication goals.
Alumni Affairs assists with development-related activities, including fundraising appeals and events and activities designed to involve and engage alumni.
The Alumni Association Board of Directors is a volunteer group which plans and leads alumni engagement efforts. The Board also selects the recipient of the Distinguished Alumna/us award annually. The Alumni Association hosts a series of regional meetings throughout the year and also helps organize the annual Alumni Reunion Weekend with special recognition for the 50-year alumni and an event honoring the Distinguished Alumna/us and Hall of Fame inductees.
Alumni Affairs also carries out activities on campus to engage students in order to make them aware of the alumni network and to encourage their involvement after graduation.
