Licensure Pass Rates

SUNY Canton currently has four programs which lead to professional licensure. The following are the pass rates for each examination.

Nursing, AAS Licensure Rates

Graduates will meet or exceed the national and state pass rate on the NCLEX-RN licensure examination

 

2022 first time pass rate: 88.89% (ADN), NYS - 77.1%, and National - 80.88%. 

55% of all students who begin NURS 103 will complete the program within 4 academic terms, which is 100% of the usual time frame for the Associate of Science degree in Nursing (2 years)

2019 Cohort: 41.8% of full-time students taking NURS 103 for the first time in the given fall semester completed the program within 100% (2 years)

2020 Cohort: 45.8% of full-time students taking NURS 103 for the first time in the given fall semester completed the program within 100% (2 years)

2021 Cohort: 71% of full-time students taking NURS 103 for the first time in the given fall semester completed the program within 100% (2 years)

90% of graduates will express
satisfaction with the nursing program.

2022: 100% of graduates indicate they have met program SLOSs; 97% rated overall program satisfaction as very satisfied or satisfied

90% of graduates will be employed as a registered nurse within six months of graduation.

2022 graduates: 100% of graduates who are registered nurses are employed as an RN

90% of employers will express satisfaction with graduate's performance.

2022 graduates: 96.5% of employers are very satisfied or satisfied with graduate's performance.

Physical Therapist Assistant Licensure Rates

Current Graduate Outcomes

Outcome data is reported as an average of two graduating classes of students. The outcomes provided below reflect graduation cohorts for 2020 and 2021.

Employment: 100% of graduates actively seeking employment were employed within one year of graduation.

Licensing Examination: Two-year overall pass rate is 91.7%; first time pass rate is 91.7%

Graduation Rate: Two-year average for students graduating within 150% time is 71.9%.
