Caps, Gowns, and Tassels
A blue cap (with a blue/gold tassel) and gown (also known as regalia) is required to participate in the Commencement ceremony. Military uniforms or traditional Ceremonial Dress may be worn in lieu of regalia.
Cap and Gown Ordering
Cap and Gown Ordering Opens: Monday, January 19
*This process is for ordering your regalia items that are worn at the ceremony – cap, gown, hood, honor tassel. Orders of other graduate items, such as shirts, hats, etc., need to be placed as a separate order and handled directly by the person placing the order.
To order
- Go to https://campusstore.canton.edu/
- Under Categories, select Regalia
- Select Cap/Gown & Tassel
- Make sure you select your height
- If you will be picking up on campus, at the “Window,” select in-store pick up.
- If you need your regalia shipped, fill in the shipping information, select Home Delivery and pay for your order - see payment and cost information below.
- Last day to order Cap & Gown: Friday, March 6
- All orders not placed through the SUNY Canton Campus Store webpage prior to the March 6 deadline will be subject to a $10.00 fee and is the student’s responsibility to pay.

Payment and Cost Information
Payment is due when you order. The following are this year’s prices (not including shipping):

- Cap and Gown – SUNY Canton will be covering the full cost of your cap, gown, and blue/gold 2026 tassel this year.
- Bachelor Hoods - $37.04 Bachelor hoods come in the following colors:
- Bachelor of Business – Drab (Brown)
- Bachelor of Technology – Orange
- Bachelor of Science - Gold (Yellow)
- Honors Tassels - $9.26 Graduates with a GPA of 3.25 or higher are eligible to wear a gold tassel. Upon request and verification, honor students may purchase a gold tassel.
- All shipping costs will be the responsibility of the student.
- All orders not placed through the SUNY Canton Campus Store webpage prior to the March 6 deadline will be subject to a $10.00 fee and is the student’s responsibility to pay.
Cap & Gown Pick Up
Pick-up Location: Across the hall from the Campus Store.
- Cap and Gown Pick Up Begins: Monday, April 20
- Cap and Gown Pick Up Ends: Friday, May 8, 4 p.m.

Honor Society Information
Graduates who are members of an officially registered honor society may opt to purchase and wear an honor cord, medallion, or stole (depending on the honor society). This distinction only applies to graduates who are members of an officially registered honor society, not for all students who are graduating with honors. The following honor societies and groups have a cord, medallion, or stole available for purchase for confirmed, active members:
- Golden Key International Honor Society
- Specific to students in 4-year programs.
- Students have the option to purchase a blue and gold cord or gold stole through the Golden Key site directly. You must be a member and log in through your account to purchase these items.
- Alpha Phi Sigma (APS)
- Specific to Criminal Justice majors.
- Students have the option to purchase a medallion, blue and gold cord, or gold stole with blue letting through the APS faculty advisor.
- Tau Alpha Pi (TAP)
- Specific to Engineering Technology majors.
- Students have the option to purchase a gold and green cord through the TAP advisor.
- Tau Phi Zeta (TPZ)
- Specific to Veterinary Technology Majors.
- Students will order hunter green and silver honor cord and society pin through TPZ advisor.
- Current and former service members
- Verified students may contact the campus Veterans Coordinator to coordinate pick up of a red, white, and blue cord.
