$65,000 - $70,000

Description of Duties

The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, Tenure-Track Assistant Professor Legal Studies faculty position in the Humanities Department beginning September 1, 2027.

Qualifications

Required:

  • A Juris Doctor Degree.
  • Ability to develop and deliver law courses across online, face-to-face, and flex (hybrid) modalities.
  • Ability to teach undergraduate-level courses, focused on tax law, income tax, and individual taxation.
  • Ability to teach a wide-range of undergraduate-level law courses, including business law, environmental law, immigration law, criminal practice, civil litigation, legal research, and legal writing.
  • Strong commitment to academic mentoring and student development.

Preferred:     

  • Admission to state bar.
  • At least 5 years of experience practicing law.
  • Prior teaching experience in college-level courses.
  • D. Degree.
  • Experience integrating applied learning into curriculum design and instruction.
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching, with a proven ability to engage and inspire students in both traditional and online settings.
  • Proven ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, including non-traditional and first-generation college students.
