Description of Duties
The Margaret Sovie School of Nursing at SUNY Canton seeks applications for a full-time position as a Nursing Lecturer. The successful candidate's primary responsibilities will be teaching in the clinical setting including the practice laboratory for the pre-licensure program.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include Clinical and laboratory instruction using criterion referenced methods of evaluation; participate in curriculum development and revision; maintain clinical expertise; participate in university service.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing required at time of hire.
- After hire must show evidence of steady progress towards completion of a Master's degree in Nursing.
- Must possess a valid, unencumbered RN license in New York State, and the American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS for Adults, Infant, and Child or the American Red Cross Basic Life Support for the Professional Rescuer. Outstanding interpersonal communication skills, attention to detail, and commitment to student success also required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience in clinical nursing practice and teaching experience.
Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
