TITLE:	Instructional Support Associate / SL-2
DEPARTMENT:	Mechanical Energy Technology
SALARY RANGE:	$51,261 - $55,000

Description of Duties

The State University of New York (SUNY) College at Canton invites qualified applicants for a full-time, Instructional Support Associate (SL-2) position in the Mechanical Energy Technology Department beginning January 5, 2026.

Responsibilities

Maintain automotive laboratory equipment in working order.
Order supplies.
Assist faculty and students during lab periods.
Consult with suppliers.
Ensure equipment standards.
Support other academic needs assigned by the supervisor and the faculty.
Welding laboratory stocking, organization, and maintenance.

Qualifications

Required:

Proven record of successful maintenance of automotive or related equipment.
Organizational skills, ability to receive inventory and parts.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, have good people skills, and a willingness to learn and stay current in the automotive industry.

Preferred:

Associate degree in the automotive or related field.
Three years’ experience with repair work.
ASE certifications are encouraged but can be earned while working.
NYS Inspector’s License but can be earned while working.

Prior to a final offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to submit to a background check including, but not limited to, employment verification, educational and other credential verification, and criminal background check.
