CDL Commercial Truck Driver Training
The Center for Workforce, Community & Industry Partnerships offers Class A and Class B Tractor Trailer trainings. Start a career in this lucrative industry. This is a great local opportunity to learn the skills needed to pass the NYS Class A and B driving exam.

CDL Class A is an 8-10 week training program. It consists of 10 hours of online training and 40 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training, scheduled by the student and instructor.
CDL Class B is an 8 week training program. It consists of 10 hours of online training and 30 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training, scheduled by the student and instructor.
CDL Class B Upgrade to a Class A is a 4-5 week training program. It consists of 10 hours of online training and 20 hours of one-on-one behind the wheel training, scheduled by the student and instructor.
Hazmat Endorsement can be added to your existing CDL license or earned along with your new CDL Class A or B license. The Hazmat training has 12 online modules that are required by NYS to add the endorsement to your CDL license at the DMV. The instructor will add you to the online course and you can complete the modules at your own pace.

- $7 download fee online through MyDMV
- NYS Department of Motor Vehicles Driver’s Abstracts
- DOT Physical Results
Application and Required Documentation
After your application and required documentation is submitted, you will receive a confirmation email with a tentative class start date and instructions on securing funding. The CDL tuition cost can be covered by out-of-pocket payment, employer reimbursement, NYS part-time tuition assistance (TAP) for non-degree students, or other local funding sources.
Class Start Date
Once funding is secured, your class start date will be confirmed. Prior to the class start date (no more than 60 days prior), you will need to secure a drug test and submit the results to our office. Once the negative drug test is received, this will finalize your application and course instructions will be sent.
- Drug Test Providers
-
You will need the DOT 5 Panel Drug Test. All CDL drivers must complete DOT-regulated drug testing to obtain and maintain their license. These tests detect marijuana, cocaine, opiates, PCP, and amphetamines. DOT drug testing is not optional—it's federally mandated and must be conducted at various stages of a driver’s licensing and employment.
