When every second counts, are you ready to answer the call?
At Answer the Call! First Responder Summer Camp, students entering grades 9 through 12 will step into the world of emergency response and discover the teamwork, communication, critical thinking, and leadership it takes to serve a community when help is needed most.
Through hands-on activities, realistic simulations, team challenges, demonstrations, and career exploration, campers will get an inside look at fields such as fire service, emergency medical services, law enforcement, emergency communications, and public safety. Fire, EMS, and law enforcement have traditionally formed the core emergency response options in communities, while emergency communications professionals also play an important role in first response.
Students might tackle a simulated emergency scene, practice communicating under pressure, investigate a mock incident, participate in rescue-inspired team challenges, explore emergency equipment, or determine how different responders work together during a complex situation.
Along the way, campers will meet the people behind the uniform, explore education and career pathways, and discover that being a first responder requires more than technical skills. It takes teamwork, compassion, responsibility, adaptability, and a commitment to helping others.

Camp Objectives 🚑
By the end of camp, participants will:
- Explore first responder and public safety careers, including fire service, EMS, law enforcement, emergency communications, and related professions.
- Strengthen critical-thinking and decision-making skills through scenario-based challenges.
- Practice clear communication and teamwork during simulated emergency situations.
- Explore the roles of emergency medical responders and how they contribute to emergency care.
- Discover fire and rescue operations through age-appropriate demonstrations and challenges.
- Explore observation and investigation skills through mock incidents and problem-solving activities.
- Understand the importance of interagency teamwork when responding to emergencies.
- Build confidence, leadership, and personal responsibility through collaborative challenges.
- Explore education, training, and career possibilities connected to public safety.
- Recognize the importance of service, professionalism, compassion, and community.
- Most importantly, challenge themselves while discovering what it means to answer the call.
Cancellation Policy
- To cancel up to two weeks before camp starts, full refund minus $10 non-refundable registration fee.
- To cancel within two weeks of camp starting, 50% refund.
- To cancel after camp starts, no refund.
