What You'll Learn
In this Microcredential, students will be introduced to Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) mapping technologies and workflows, including GPS, GIS, LiDAR, and photogrammetry and how these technologies are used within various industries. First students will focus on flight planning, data acquisition, processing, analysis, and practical applications in industries such as agriculture, construction, environmental science, and public safety. Then they will explore the use of UAS for package delivery, medical supply transport, first responder support, and law enforcement operations. Emphasis will be placed on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations, cargo drone technologies, safety protocols, and real-world logistic strategies.
