Heat Pumps

What You'll Learn

In this Microcredential, students will prepare for the EPA 608 technician certification exam by examining heat pumps. First, students will learn the fundamentals of refrigerating and air conditioning equipment. Then they apply knowledge of the basic refrigeration cycle and the function of each component through hands-on labs, including brazing operations and copper tubing. Finally, students will explore EPA regulations which require technicians who maintain, service, repair or dispose of equipment that could release ozone depleting refrigerants to be certified. This microcredential concludes with the EPA 608 Technician Certification exam.
