Fall 2023 New Student Orientation

Welcome to the New Student Orientation Page! We hope you will find all the resources here, but please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions or concerns.  We can be reached at orientation@canton.edu or 315-379-3822. We hope that Orientation will provide you with a fantastic introduction to your education at SUNY Canton and will assist you in meeting faculty, staff, and fellow students who will share your college journey with you. This is the first step to your academic career, and we can’t wait to see you at Orientation!

Mandatory Orientation Options

The full schedule of events, as well as the link for Online Orientation, will be available on this page by August 1. Please bookmark this page and return to find out all of the exciting things we have planned for you this summer!

In-Person New Student Orientation will be held on Tuesday, August 22 – Wednesday, August 23

All students, other than those who are fully online/remote with no on-campus presence as defined below, are expected to attend in-person. Transfer students who are not living on campus should contact the Orientation Office to discuss options for you at orientation@canton.edu or 315-379-3822.

Online Orientation: Opens June 15 and is available all summer

Students with no on-campus presence (all online/remote classes, not living on campus, and not participating in college athletics) are invited to attend our Online Orientation. You do not need to register for Online Orientation (please just skip the step in your UCanWeb), but please email us at orientation@canton.edu so that we can verify your status as a fully online student and remove you from our weekly emails regarding in-person Orientation. The link will be posted to the Online Orientation on this page by June 15.
